My current research encompasses three areas: parallel computing, single board computers, and computer science education. My current research explores how low-energy computers such as single-board computers can be applied to general-purpose computing (especially for parallel computing tasks), and also explores how such devices can be used to engage and inspire students in areas such as parallel computing and cyber security. My dissertation research focused on developing algorithms that enable scientists to efficiently analyze, store and share their large collections of evolutionary trees. I am a co-author of the free online textbook, Dive into Systems, and also a member of the CSinParallel leadership team. For a full list of my works, please view my CV.
